Personal Shuttle Service

     If you have your own canoe, we will shuttle you from Allegheny Outfitters to the regular launch site and back.

     If you prefer not to use our shuttle service, you can rent canoes at our headquarters, load and launch them yourself.

Free Trip Planning

     Allegheny Outfitters will be pleased to help plan your next canoe trip. We have keen knowledge of the river and can suggest an excursion to suit your individual needs.

Camping:

     We will help you plan an overnight camping trip. The Allegheny National Forest offers a wide variety of camping experiences. Some are boat access only sites along the shoreline of the Allegheny Reservoir. For more information call:

Groups:

We offer the following group rates:

• 8 to 15 canoes deduct 10%
• 16 or more canoes deduct 20%
• Tax Exempt groups deduct and additional 6%

Note:  Advance reservations are necessary for groups. Please plan ahead!

     Welcome to Kinzua Country, in northwestern Pennsylvania, where the mighty Allegheny River winds through the rolling hills of the Allegheny National Forest. What better way to spend the afternoon than floating down the river in one of our canoes. Watch for eagles and hawks above, white-tailed deer along the shore or one of many species of fish in the water beneath you. Kinzua Dam to Allegheny Outfitters

     This trip is the easiest and best for a leisurely canoe trip. We shuttle you, your canoe and all equipment to the tail waters launch at Kinzua Dam. From there you will journey back to Allegheny Outfitters, passing several small islands.

Kinzua Dam to Buckaloons

     Enjoy the river a little longer on this all day trip that begins at the Kinzua Dam and ends at the Buckaloons Campground in Irvine, PA. You will experience all of Trip #1 then continue further to enjoy the sights. Allegheny Outfitters will shuttle you to the dam and back plus pick you up at the campgrounds!

     Reacquaint yourself with nature on one of our 2 most popular long trips. These trips include overnight camping on one of the islands in the Allegheny River Wildnerness. Travel from Kinzua Dam past Buckaloons Campground to choose your island for the night. The next day or two, continue down the river to end at either Tidioute (Trip #3) or Tionesta (Trip #4).

* Less than 3 canoes will incur a slight extra charge.

Note:   Trip #3 has a minimum rental of 3 conoes and 2 days and Trip #4 has a minimum rental of 3 canoes for 3 days.
